Siskiyou Mt. Wagon Road 4: at the Siskiyou Pass

The marker can be reached by car by driving south on Interstate 5, and taking the exit for the Mt. Ashland Ski area. Take the Old Highway 99 road toward the ski area, and turn right onto the Mt. Ashland Road, just before Highway 99 goes under the freeway. The marker is located approximately 1.3 miles up the Mt. Ashland Road, on the right. It is past the point at which the Colestin Road exits on the left, and is just past a highway sign that reads “ROCKS, NEXT 6 MILES”.

Marker #5 is located here. Just beyond this marker is an old logging road on the right that heads east. Park and walk down this road a short distance, to where the Pacific Crest Trail (PCT) crosses. Turn right onto the PCT and walk a short distance. The marker is partially hidden in a cluster of new small trees on the left of the PCT. Use the GPS coordinates, if you can, to find it.
