Applegate Trail 06: Keene Creek Slide
Directions
This marker is located 0.35 miles from the end of the old bridge over Keene Creek between Highway 66 and the Keene Creek Reservoir. It can be viewed from a pullout on Highway 66 if the underbrush has not grown too much. This slide was very steep and was described as overhanging by some of the pioneer diaries. A white pole has been attached to the marker in case the brush has hidden it.
The marker inscription reads:
HISTORIC APPLEGATE TRAIL 1846 – 1869
