Lost Creek Covered Bridge

Directions

From Medford, take Highway 62 toward Crater Lake, and then Highway 140 toward Klamath Falls. Drive about sixteen and a half miles to the Lake Creek Loop Road. Turn right onto the Loop Road until the South Fork Little Butte Creek Road takes off to the right. Drive through Lake Creek to the point at which Lost Creek Road turns off to the right. Drive about half a mile to the old covered bridge.

Local residents claim the original bridge was built as early as 1878-1881 according to Wikipedia. If true, this would make it the oldest existing covered bridge in Oregon.

The bridge is adjacent to the Walch Memorial Wayside. A brochure from the bridge and park has information on the bridge and the history of the Walch family.
